Jack holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture from Cornell University and a Master in Architecture Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Design.Additionally, Jack's graduate work continued the dual roads of Horticulture and Architecture with studies in the fields of Civic Design and Landscape Architecture.He is an emeritus registered landscape architect with the State of Florida and is a Fellow Emeritus, American Society of Landscape Architects.His diverse community involvements have included serving on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Collier County Museum, The Collier County Historical Society, the Naples Botanical Garden and the Naples Zoo. He served as President of the Cornell Alumni Association of Southwest Florida from 2008 until 2013.

Jack came to Florida in 1968, and in 1970 established his own practice of landscape architecture in Fort Lauderdale. Eight years later his firm became consultants to Westinghouse Communities of Naples, inc. and their Pelican Bay Community. Subsequently, he moved his firm to Naples. Over the years his firm has been involved with some of the largest comprehensive community projects in Southwest Florida. The firm has been the recipient of numerous National and State Awards, recognizing the firms contributions to the built and natural environment. In 2005 he turned over leadership of J. Roland Lieber, pllc, Landscape Architects, dba. JRL Design, to associates within the firm. Jack now continues the practice of Landscape Management and Design as a Private Consultant.
